Lira Town College Seeks to Host Ball Games in 2026

Lira Town College has officially expressed its interest in hosting the Uganda Secondary Schools National Championships (National Ball Games 1) in 2026. This decision comes after a call for expressions of interest was issued by the Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES), in collaboration with the Association of Secondary School Headteachers of Uganda (ASSHU) and the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA).

The college submitted its application on Saturday, September 26, 2025, with a facility inspection conducted by USSSA officials on Saturday, October 4, 2025. The inspection team was notably impressed by the high-quality facilities and attractive infrastructure at the college.

Annually, the Uganda Secondary Schools National Championships draws thousands of young athletes, coaches, and officials from across the country. Host schools are required to provide suitable venues, accommodation, medical services, food arrangements, security, and essential infrastructure to ensure a safe and successful event.
