I would like to welcome you all to the Department of ICT, Lira Town College. The Department of ICT is situated in the ICT lab, is one of the most vital departments at the college, and we provide services to learners, staff and community. As a department, we currently have five staff, including three teachers, one lab attendant and one volunteer.

There are two subjects under the department, namely ICT (840/1 & 2) at O-level and Subsidiary ICT (S850/1 & 2) at A-level. At both levels, ICT has two papers (theory and practical). These subjects are very popular with students, and each year, we register about 80 and 200 candidates at UCE and UACE respectively.

Apart from taking the lead in teaching and learning of ICT as a subject at UCE and UACE levels, we provide vital services such as Internet access (eduroam), data entry services, ICT community training and engaging students in ICT competitions and events. The Departments maintains three Internet access points (eduroam), about 38 computers for teaching and learning, and several ICT students projects.

The Department maintains an open access policy, ensuring that computers and Internet access remain accessible for both learners and staff throughout the day, and week. Our Department remains open to new projects, collaborations, and partnerships in regards to academics, extra-curricula activities, and teaching and learning.
